HoldMe ("we", "us") is a small Swedish project building a safe, platonic companionship service. Your trust matters as much as your data. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, and what your rights are.
Who we are
HoldMe Nordic, based in Sweden. You can reach us at elin@holdmenordic.com. For data-protection questions, the same address.
What we collect
- Waitlist signups: your email address, the time you signed up, and your consent record.
- Companion applications: your name, email, phone number, field of work, and the short note you write about your license or studies.
- Basic technical data: standard server logs (IP, user-agent, timestamps) used only to keep the site running and prevent abuse.
We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
Why we use it (legal basis)
- To send you what you asked for — a waitlist confirmation, application acknowledgement, and (later) launch news. Basis: your consent and our legitimate interest in communicating with people who reached out to us.
- To review companion applications — so a real person at HoldMe can read what you sent and decide on next steps. Basis: steps taken at your request before entering an agreement.
- To keep the service secure — block spam, debug issues. Basis: our legitimate interest in a working, safe site.
How long we keep it
- Waitlist signups: until you unsubscribe or until we launch and you've been invited, whichever is later.
- Companion applications: up to 12 months after the decision, then deleted or anonymised.
- Technical logs: typically 30 days.
Who can see it
Only the small HoldMe team. We use a few trusted service providers to run the site and send email — currently Lovable Cloud (infrastructure and database) and our transactional email provider. They process data on our behalf and are bound by GDPR data-processing terms. Data may be processed within the EU/EEA; where a provider operates outside the EEA we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us to: access the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to processing, or receive a copy in a portable format. You can withdraw consent at any time — that does not affect processing already done. Email elin@holdmenordic.com and we will respond within 30 days.
If you're not happy with our response you can complain to the Swedish data-protection authority, Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY).
Cookies
We use only strictly necessary cookies needed for the site to function (for example, a session cookie if you sign in). No advertising or analytics cookies are set without your consent.
Changes
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know by email.
